ARCedtech, SDGChoupal and Earth Day Network launch Global Sustainability Awards for Schools

to applaud efforts by schools to foster the culture of sustainability among children and showcase the best practices from schools around the globe

ARCedtech, SDGChoupal and Earth Day Networkare pleased to announce the launch of Global Sustainability Awards for schools on December 10, 2021. These awards are open to schools across the world, providing these institutions a platform to showcase their efforts towards a sustainable future. Institutions that embody the spirit of sustainability and integrate the values of the 17 UN SDGs within their curriculum and activities, can apply here:

There is NO application fee to enter for the awards. Schools are required to fill up an online registration form. The applications will be assessed on the following parameters:

  1. Education for Sustainable Development being imparted to students
  2. Sustainable practices followed in the institution
  3. Making a social impact through community work
  4. Innovative/Unique efforts towards sustainability

The last date to register is September 30, 2021. The selection process is completely transparent and fair. There are several categories of awards to recognize all notable efforts by schools. The distinguished jury includes Vibha Dhawan, Director General, TERI; Prabhjot Sodhi, Former Head – Circular Economy, UNDP India; Douglas Ragan, Programme Management Officer, UN-Habitat Nairobi ; Ayush Chopra (WizardAyush), Founder SDGs for Children; Rakesh Khatri, also known as The Nest Man of India, Founder of Eco Roots Foundation; and many more.

ARCedtech is a technology-first education company with a mission to make education meaningful and transformative. It offers 360-degree solutions towards Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). These include SDG Handbooks for Students for grades 1 to 8 (in English and Hindi), and SDG Workshops and Handbooks for Educators.

The SDGChoupal is a collective community initiative of Nagrik Foundation, launched at NITI Aayog, on December 20, 2019, supported by Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Ministry of Social Justice Govt. of India, MSME Govt. of India, NSIC, RIS, TERI, UN-Habitat, FICCI-ARISE India, CII India@75, WHOSEARO, UNESCAP, ONGC, GCNI and many other stake holders. It is dedicated to support the national and state Governmentsand institutions on advocacy and community engagement for SDG implementation in India.

Earth Day Network, India (EDN), works in collaboration with EARTHDAY.ORG, the global environmental NGO that began with the first Earth Day on April 22, 1970, and today, engages with over 75,000 organisations in some 190 countries for positive action for the environment.
